"The Magnitsky Act” was first shown to an invited audience at a journalism museum in Washington, D.C. on 13 June.  What followed was a spirited exchange between its defenders and detractors in the US periodical press.

A public showing took place soon afterwards in Norway, the country of the film’s production team.  At the end of the month, "The Magnitsky Act” was presented at an international film festival in Moscow, where once again it generated heated debate.

Now our Brussels audience can judge for itself the merits of this extraordinary investigative reporting cum documentary by Andrei Nekrasov which puts in question the story underpinning the 2012 US law known as the Magnitsky Act.

The moderator is Gilbert Doctorow, European Coordinator, The American Committee for East-West Accord Ltd
