US President Donald Trump will continue to look for ways to work with Russia, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said during a press briefing.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States and Russia have stood on the opposite ends on various global issues, but the Trump administration has continuously said it seeks to find common ground with Moscow.
"He [Trump] does think that there are places where we can work with Russia particularly whether it's on Syria or North Korea… he's going to continue to look for ways to work with them that help America," Sanders said on Thursday.
US-Russia relations have deteriorated and continue to sour amid the ongoing investigations into allegations that Moscow meddled in the 2016 US presidential election.Russia has repeatedly rejected the US allegations, calling them absurd and intended to deflect public attention from actual instances of election fraud and corruption as well as other issues.
