Russia is going to present its new aircraft and air defense facilities at an international air show, which will take place in the Indian city of Bangalore from February 6 to 10.
Experts predict that the attention of the visitors will be drawn, first of all, to Russian anti-missile systems, which have no analogue in the world.
Within many years, Russia has been the largest exporter of arms and various kinds of military equipment to India. About 70% of the weapons that the Indian army currently has have been made in Russia.
About 40 Russian companies are going to take part in this year’s air show in Bangalore. The largest exposition is presented by "Rosoboronexport”. This company is taking part in the tender which the Indian Air Forces are holding in order to purchase multipurpose planes that can be refueled right in the air. Besides, "Rosoboronexport” will present at this show its military planes and helicopters that have already approved themselves in the world.
In an interview with the Voice of Russia, a representative of "Rosoboronexport” Vyacheslav Davidenko said:
"In Bangalore, we will present the training and combat plane Yakovlev-130, the plane Ilyushin-74MK90, which is meant for refueling other planes right in the air, the multipurpose amphibian plane Be-200 and one of our latest military planes, Ilyushin-76MD-90A. Besides, we are going to show the helicopters "Mil-35M” and "Kamov-31”.”
"We will also present anti-missile systems that we are offering to India – "Antey-2500”, "Tor-M2E”, "Buk-M2E” and "Pantsyr-S-1”.”
Experts are also predicting that much attention at this show will most likely be drawn to another Russian novelty, the plane "Ilyushin-76MD-90A”. In fact, it is the latest modernization of "Ilyushin-76”, a legendary plane which appeared several decades ago but is still used in the Russian army. Besides India, China is also showing great interest to this Russian plane and, most likely, will purchase several such planes in the nearest future.
Another Russian company which is taking part in the air show in Bangalore, "Almaz-Antey”, which produces air defense facilities, is aimed mainly at cooperating with countries of the Asia-Pacific region. "Almaz-Antey” is presenting an air defense system of short range "Tor-M2KM”.
Like at all large-scale international air exhibitions, at this one in Bangalore, a show of aerobatic teams is expected. One of them will be the well-known Russian team "Russkie Vityazi” ("Russian Knights”).
